The entire staff, Attorney Michael C. Blickensderfer and wife, Viviane Blickensderfer, wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Each one of us holds the meaning of the #holidays close to home and wish to share what #Christmas means to us!
Michael Blickensderfer’s message is to remember the real meaning for this holiday season of God’s gift of the birth of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. The Blickensderfer family reflects this to be the true reason for this season. Enjoy time with friends, family and loved ones. Blick Law Firm, helping the hurting.
The holidays are a time spent with friends and family, food, laughter, and love. It is at this time every year that we realize how much we have to be thankful for. At Blick Law Firm, we are thankful for these things, but most importantly, we are thankful that we have the ability to give.
Every year, around Thanksgiving Blick Law Firm donates to charitable organizations. This year, we will purchase Thanksgiving turkeys to donate to local families in need. Turkey is one of the things that makes Thanksgiving feel like Thanksgiving, and we believe no family should have to forget that special holiday feeling.

We see our hard work and dedication to our values and faith realized in giving back to others. We wish you a safe and blessed holiday with your loved ones, and encourage you to help those in need however you can this holiday season and throughout the year.

In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Blick Law Firm and Infinity Abstract and Title employees donned pink attire, representing the pink ribbon associated with breast cancer awareness.
While most people are aware of breast cancer’s prevalence and know what it is, many people forget to take early action steps in both detecting and preventing breast cancer. Early detection and action are crucial to survival for breast cancer victims. For this reason, a main focus of the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign, is encouraging people to get routine screenings, and encouraging their friends and loved ones to do the same.
Another goal of the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign, is educating women and men about the risk factors for breast cancer. Breast cancer affects both men and women, but it is close to 100 times more likely for women to be affected by the disease. Many risk factors for breast cancer are biological, and cannot be changed, including: gender, age, race, and family history of breast cancer. Other risk factors involve lifestyle choices, like levels of physical activity, diet, and smoking cigarettes.
We encourage you to be proactive about your personal health and wellbeing, and to encourage your loved ones to do the same. Remember the risks and wide spread effects of breast cancer all year, not just in the month of October.

Blick Law Firm has forged a relationship with Tampa area students through their year-round internship program. Interns at Blick gain industry experience in either the law field or marketing field as they work closely with experienced professionals.
More than 20 students from the University of South Florida have held internship positions at the law firm. Interns come from a variety of backgrounds and areas of study, including: political science, business, mass communications, marketing, English, economics, and biomedical science.
Interns are offered a three-month, unpaid professional internship at Blick Law Firm, with the option to extend the offer and receive a stipend.
The internship program at Blick is much different from those programs that rely on interns to make coffee and make copies. At Blick, interns gain real world, hands-on experience, have the opportunity to test drive a career, and establish connections with local professionals and organizations.
Law interns work closely with the many attorneys and legal assistants on staff. These students handle anything from performing case specific research to filing and making crucial calls to local health care providers. This fall, three legal interns joined the Blick Law Firm team.
Samuel Armes is a current law intern and second-year student at USF, studying economics and international business. He hopes to attend graduate school following graduation from USF to study international law. Sam feels the internship position at Blick will provide him with valuable experience and knowledge in the field of law, and open doors for him in the future.
Sam says working at Blick is an “incredibly fulfilling experience that has helped him to solidify his passion for law.” He looks forward to the challenge excitement, and knowledge his assignments at the firm provide him with.
The Director of Operations and Marketing, Dana Blickensderfer, oversees the marketing interns. These students promote Blick Law Firm, its mission, and events to the Tampa community. The three marketing interns working for Blick this fall have each taken on a specific area of focus: event planning and logistics, social media content and design, and writing promotional and informational material for both the Blick Law Firm and Infinity Abstract & Title websites.
A major focus for the marketing interns is the networking event that Blick Law Firm and Infinity Abstract & Title are hosting at the end of this year. The interns are responsible for designing event materials, reaching out to sponsors and guests, and working toward the event’s overall success.
Current legal assistant and former intern, Alexis Sacasas, works closely with both the law and marketing interns. Alexis, a graduating senior at USF, provides professional guidance and support for the interns on a daily basis. She also helps interns connect with experts and businesses in the local community.
Alexis enjoys the opportunity to work side-by-side with the intern team. She says that Blick’s internship program stands out from many others “because we truly work as a team and try to facilitate a learning experience that you couldn’t receive in the classroom.”
When interns enter this opportunity with commitment and dedication, the Blick staff provides them with the tools they need to succeed in the professional realm. We hope that outside of building their resume and networking with local industry professionals, that our interns will develop meaningful relationships and friendships with one another.
While there are several factors that contribute to job placement following college graduation, internships rank at the top of that list. Internships are incredibly valuable for college students and recent college graduates entering the workforce. In fact, students who hold or have held internship positions, either paid or unpaid, have a much better chance of being placed in a full-time position after graduation.
Not only do internship positions looks great on a student’s resume, they give students the opportunity to network and develop valuable relationships with industry professionals. Internships also provide students with new resources, experiences, and knowledge.
Internship programs are just as valuable to employers as they are to students. On one hand, hiring interns allows companies to shape young, dedicated students into the type of employees they value most. This gives employers the opportunity to later hire students who have been tailored to fit their preferences and needs.
Interns bring employees new, innovative ideas. College students learn new technological and business trends almost as soon as they appear within an industry or field of study. In this way, college-aged interns benefit employers by keeping them up-to-date and current.
Our interns take a wealth of knowledge away from this professional experience with our employees, who have years of experience in their fields. Interns however do bring a fresh perspective and, especially in the marketing field, are aware of the constantly evolving Internet and social media trends and techniques.
Through our internship program, Blick Law Firm is strengthening its relationship with not only USF students, but the entire Tampa community. This program gives us the opportunity to mold future professionals and we are happy to provide our interns with hands-on professional experience and new knowledge and opportunities.
We look forward to all the success we will accomplish with this year’s intern team and with the future interns!

Baseball. It’s the classic American past time we all know and love.
